Boston, Victoria & Vancouver

The week before Thanksgiving (US Thanksgiving that is) I had to go Victoria & Vancouver.  Pete, London & I went to Rhode Island the weekend before and I flew to Victoria from Boston.  It was a quick trip to Rhode Island (for me anyway, Pete & London stayed through Wednesday) but nice to visit for the weekend. IMG_0646_Fotor_Collage2

London had the very best time with Nani, Poppi, Uncle Grant, Auntie Betsy & her new best friend Murphy.  Dad came down on Saturday & we spent the day Christmas shopping.  And had a lovely time.  Sunday we met Michele, Britt, & Allison for lunch.  IMG_0881_Fotor_Collage56

Monday I flew to Victoria.  Beautiful city but we had zero time to do any sight seeing.  Training on Tuesday & Wednesday.

Wednesday night we flew to Vancouver.  Another beautiful city but another two days of training and then back to Toronto.  Thankfully I was able to get on a earlier flight home and made it home at 2:30am instead of 6am.  IMG_0675_Fotor_Collage2

Nick & Jessica’s Wedding

Two weekends ago we went to Washington D.C. to celebrate Nick & Jessica.  We got in late on Friday night.  Saturday morning London went to the zoo with Grandma & Pepere while Pete & I went to the World War II memorial.  My phone completely died before I backed up my pictures so I lost a bunch of photos from the weekend, including the ones of Pete & I wishing the memorial.  I’m excited to bring London back to D.C. when she’s a bit older & can really enjoy the experience.IMG_0108_Fotor_CollageIMG_0108_Fotor_Collage 1The wedding reception was on Saturday evening.  It was quite relaxed & fun.  They had it at Union Square in D.C. & it was outside BBQ, corn hole & just hanging out.  Lots of fun.  London was a party animal but Pete had to bring her home before the party was over – just too late for this little girl. IMG_4546_Fotor_Collage 4The wedding ceremony was on Sunday morning.  It was a very nice, personal ceremony.  Henry, one of Nick’s friends since kindergarten I think, performed the ceremony.  They each are from a family of four kids, so each had their siblings by their side at the wedding instead of bridesmaids & groomsmen.  It was really nice & they were very cute. IMG_4546_Fotor_Collage 2

After the ceremony was a lovely brunch.  We had to cut out a little early to catch our flight home.  It was a busy & fun weekend.  Congrats Nick & Jessica! So happy we could be there to celebrate with you!

Labor Day Weekend at Butterfly Lake: Part 2

We had a very relaxing day on Sunday.  We went into town for lunch & ice cream.  And had dinner down by the lake.
IMG_4306_Fotor_Collage 2Not exactly sure why but London thought watching me swim was hilarious.  She had a bath in the lake on Sunday night.  We almost ended up heading home Sunday night since London refused to go to bed but finally, finally she went down.

In hopes of missing some of the traffic & taking advantage of London’s nap time we headed out Monday morning. We had a lovely weekend.  It was such a beautiful weekend.  So nice to spend it on the lake. IMG_4344_Fotor_Collage

Labor Day Weekend at Butterfly Lake: Part 1

IMG_4359_Fotor

We just got home from a weekend away at Butterfly Lake.  After much effort Pete found a camp to rent on Wednesday & we decided to just for it.  I’m glad we did.  It was so nice to be away from the city for the weekend.  And hard to beat being right on a lake.  We’ve been planning on getting bikes for awhile and even went out to look at some last weekend but hadn’t pulled the trigger yet.  Well in anticipation for our weekend away, I went out Wednesday & bought myself a bike, London a bike seat & helmet & a rack for the car.  Thursday Pete went out to buy his bike & helmets for both of us.  London LOVES her helmet & pretty much wants to wear it all the time.  I also got her this lifejacket/bathing suit & water shoes.  Here she is all ready for our camping trip.  Had to wear the helmet during dinner & threw a fit when I made her take it off for her bath. IMG_4119_Fotor_Collage

We left on Friday around 1 and began our journey to “cottage country” up north.  Pete had the day off & my office closed at 1 but I had to take several calls from the car on the way up.  We anticipated that traffic would be quite bad but were pleasantly surprised that it was a pretty smooth ride.

When we got there we checked place out then changed into our swimsuits & went down to the lake.  After some relaxing, fishing, swimming & a quick ride in the paddle boat we went into town for dinner.  Pete did a little more fishing when we got back.IMG_4140_Fotor_Collage 2IMG_4140_Fotor_Collage

Saturday morning we thought it would be a good idea to bike to the local store so I could get coffee.  We regretted the decision when we figured out that it was a VERY hilly ride.  We made it though.  London LOVED it.  We spent the rest of the morning down by the lake – swimming & fishing.  IMG_0381_Fotor_Collage 3

After lunch London was insisting that we go for another bike ride, so Pete put the bikes on the back of the car & we found a better place for a little ride.  Pete actually stopped at the visitor center & they recommended a local winery/cranberry bog.  It was perfect. IMG_4231_Fotor_Collage

Saturday afternoon while London & I took a little nap Pete went on a fishing excursion – that is in the paddle boat to the island in front of the camp we were staying at.  I don’t know how long he was out there for but right as we got down to the dock, he caught his first & only fish of the weekend.  He paddled it in so we could take a closer look – of course, London was trying to take credit for the catch. IMG_0417_Fotor_Collage 2

Summer Vacation: Wrap Up

London & I got back to Rhode Island Wednesday afternoon.  We got to spend a little more time with Nani, Poppi & Meme before we hit the road on Thursday afternoon.

London was a dream on the drive back to Toronto.  The perfect travel companion.  We left in the afternoon on Thursday, drove through her nap, stopped for dinner & at a shopping plaza for her to run around a bit then were back on the road.  We stopped somewhere in NY at around midnight then drove the rest of the way to Toronto in the morning.  She couldn’t have been better.

Summer Vacation: Maine Part 3

Monday we have a lovely lunch at Lexi’s & then visited with Grampy & Betty for a while.  IMG_3802_Fotor_Collage 2IMG_3802_Fotor_CollageIMG_3830_Fotor_Collage 3

Tuesday we went to the beach with Rachael, Henry, Hudson, Myriah & Tim.  London thought she was pretty cool hanging out with the big boys.  IMG_3872_Fotor_Collage 22Tuesday night we had a nice dinner with Grampa.
