What else have we been up to around here? Last weekend Pete removed the platform the playhouse was built on. I bought a Skill Saw at the neighborhood yard sale which definitely expedited this project but it was a LOT of work. We have been warned by our neighbor that raccoons are quite populous in the neighborhood. Pete had even seen one in our backyard. Well he found a dead one while taking the platform apart. It was mostly decomposed but the tail was still intact. Completely grossed me out. What do you do with a dead raccoon? Bag it & put it out for the garbage truck.
Grass has now been planted & is being watered diligently. We’re hoping to have growth sometime soon!(?) This weekend he will tackle the cutting down some of the small trees in the backyard. Our goal is to open up the space. It’s quite condensed right now & we don’t have much lawn back there.
I planted a small vegetable garden at the being of last week. Tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, peppers, strawberries. I think that’s it. I need to find a nursery that has a wider variety of vegetables. I’d like to get some squash & a few other things. I think it’s too late in the season for seeds?
So happy to have this view of the dining area from the kitchen. It’s nice to have one part of the house looking “complete” or at least close enough to look decent. Thrilled with how the oil painting (from Rome) looks framed.
